Choose the client, add your line items, and pick a tax formula. This is the template every occurrence is stamped from.
Weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly — combined with an interval, so "every two weeks" or "every six months" works just as well.
On each occurrence a brand-new invoice is generated, either as a draft for you to review or sent straight to the client.
Each occurrence produces an ordinary invoice with its own sequential number, its own sender and recipient snapshot, and its own tax breakdown. The schedule never rewrites an invoice it has already produced.
A monthly schedule starting January 31 bills Jan 31, Feb 28, Mar 31, Apr 30 — not Jan 31, Feb 28, then stuck on the 28th forever. Every date is measured from the start date, so a short month never knocks the schedule off course.
Tax is recomputed at the moment each invoice is generated, against that invoice's issue date. When a provincial rate changes mid-schedule, the next invoice is already correct — you do not have to rebuild anything.
Auto-send is off by default: each occurrence lands as a draft and you get a nudge to review it. Turn it on and InvoiceCast finalizes and emails the invoice for you.
End on a date, or after a set number of invoices, or leave it open-ended. A schedule that reaches its limit marks itself completed instead of quietly continuing.
Pause a schedule between contracts and resume it later. Edits apply to future occurrences only — the invoices you have already sent are never altered.

Invoices only go out between 7am and 7pm in your account's timezone, so an automated invoice never lands in a client's inbox at 3am.
If an auto-send cannot go through — an invalid or bouncing client address, for instance — the invoice is kept as a draft and you are notified. Nothing is ever silently dropped.
Delete a client and any schedule billing them is paused automatically rather than invoicing someone who is no longer on your books. Resume it once you have pointed it at a valid recipient.

That occurrence is skipped rather than lost, and you are notified once. It is retried automatically on the next cycle, so once you are back under your limit or on a larger plan, billing resumes without you rebuilding the schedule.
